The customized education and training services of the Technology Extension Division (TED) www.vtc-ted.org were created to serve the training needs of the business communities. No longer do managers have to send employees to distant places for training or to spend money on programs for which there is questionable payback. Over the years, TED has established itself as the "Go To" place for education and training needs analyses, and training in leadership and supervisory development, technical and business skill training. In addition, we are positioned to assist companies focusing on organizational change strategies (e.g.moving toward team based leadership) and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Programs can be delivered for a specific company based on a defined need, or be offered as public training programs resulting from a region-wide needs analysis.
Vermont Tech has provided programs for the following companies: VTel (Outlook training), NewsBank (Project Management), PCM and IVEK (Electronics Manufacturing Technology), Lovejoy Tool Co. (CNC Machining), McDermid Equipment (Safety and Industrial Electricity), Hartness House (Customer Relations and Communication Skills), FiberMark (Electric Controls and PLC Training), Okemo Mountain (Leadership Development), GS Precision and Sonnax (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and Ascutney Metal Products (Statistical Process Control). Sixteen (16) companies in the Springfield and Brattleboro areas have accessed the Technology Extension Division's Basic Supervision Series for their supervisors and managers.
On-line, TED offers Education to Go (ETG) modules. Most of the modules are six weeks in length. These are non-credit modules that are offered through a nationwide provider of interactive, web-based instruction. Many of the modules are for CEUs. The extensive list of non-credit offerings is available through Vermont Tech's Extension Education to Go website at www.ed2go.com/vtc
